Monday at the Park

Another beautiful day...
We went out before it got hot.
Then lost track of time.
We missed circle time, but can do that this afternoon instead.

Happy Rain Days

These kids have never been happier about the rain. They have new rain coats to wear, you see. And when there isn't enough rain for decent puddle jumping, the next best thing is drawing with sidewalk chalk. It makes for great water colour textures.

Easy Breezy day

Today is such a beautiful day. We have been walking around the pond looking for baby frogs. The children and I are wondering if they are any bigger than last time we saw them. We have heard lots of bullfrog sounds, but have not yet spotted any baby frogs. We've seen some dragonflies and lots of beautiful flowers. We also found a caterpillar egg. Here's a picture of Jennie and my daughter Emma, and my daycare kids. I hope you are all having a beautiful day today just like we are.

Baby frogs

On our nature walk today, we saw some baby frogs. We were lucky enough to actually spot eight teeny tiny baby frogs on the pathway. They were so tiny that they were smaller than most of the children's fingers.

We were very careful to look out for new frogs and it was very exciting for all of us.

One of the children said lookout for frogs!

Another child sad look out for ice!

Then another child said look at for dynamite!

Here are some pictures of the baby frogs.

Story Time Today

Here are the books we have been reading today.

The children really liked how Scaredy Squirrel made a new friend.
They also liked how there was a skunk in two of the books we read.
When we sang our Sleeping Bunnies song, we pretended that we were owls who-ing in the forest.

Big tractor sighting

The children were quite happy to spot this huge tractor while on our walk today. It was pulling behind it three steel rollers. We guessed that they were there to help even out the ground.
It looked much closer when we took the picture.
