Shadows and shakers

This morning we have been colouring and playing, and making home made shakers with recycled materials like empty pop bottles and dried popcorn kernels.

We then had our own little parade with our newly made musical instruments. Each child's instrument was a little different from the next, so they could easily tell them apart.

After that, we went to the sunbeam in the front hallway and compared how they each looked with the light streaming through them. They noticed the unique patterns and colours that gleamed through, and had fun experimenting with the different shadows they could make when tilting their shakers in various angles.

This afternoon after nap time we will be doing finger painting, as well as baking a batch of banana muffins (by request, which I'm delighted to be asked).
